On today's episode, I speak with Cara Johnson, the owner of a social media strategy agency, and fellow ADHDer. Unlike most folks I interview, Cara was diagnosed with ADHD over 20 years ago as a teenager. We talked about how she discovered and accepted her diagnosis. We also discuss our shared experience as mothers of Black boys on the Autism spectrum.
Our conversation also delves into a concerning case involving Emanuel Fru, a young Black man who has been indefinitely detained in a psychiatric hospital in Sweden following an Autistic meltdown. We raise the question of whether it's safer for us to teach our sons to mask, for their protection?
